1. About this policy

This Cookie Policy explains what cookies and similar technologies are, how Vectorwise LLC, a limited liability company formed in Wyoming, United States, trading as Vavio (“we”, “us”, “our”), uses them on our website and inside the Vavio product (together, the “Service”), and the choices you have. It supplements our Privacy Policy.

2. What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files that websites place on your device when you visit. They are widely used to make sites work properly, remember preferences, secure sessions, and understand how a site is used. In this policy, “cookies” also covers similar client-side technologies such as local storage, session storage, pixels, and SDK identifiers, where they perform a similar function.

3. First-party and third-party cookies

First-party cookies are set by us directly. Third-party cookies are set by service providers whose code runs in your browser — our analytics, our payment pages, the anti-abuse check on our contact form, and the advertising tags named in Section 5.

This policy covers browser and device technologies only. The services that process data behind the scenes — where an AI employee’s work is actually done — set nothing in your browser and are listed in our Privacy Policy instead.

4. Categories of cookies we use

We group cookies by the purpose they serve. Whether a group starts on or off depends on where you are, and we would rather be exact than flattering:

  • In the UK and the EEA, everything except the strictly necessary group starts off. Analytics and advertising do not run at all until you make an affirmative choice — no banner decision means nothing optional runs.
  • Everywhere else, analytics and advertising start on. They run from your first visit without waiting for a decision, and stay on until you turn them off. You can turn them off at any time with “Manage cookies”, and that decision is respected from then on.

The groups themselves:

  • Strictly necessary: required for the website and product to function — for example, authentication, session management, security, load balancing, and remembering your cookie preferences. These do not require consent under UK/EU e-privacy rules.
  • Functional: remember choices you make (e.g. language, region, display preferences) to improve the experience. Where required by law, we ask for consent before setting these.
  • Analytics and performance: help us understand how the Service is used so we can fix bugs and improve features. Opt-in in the UK and EEA; on by default elsewhere until you turn it off. It is not anonymous: while you are signed in, our analytics know who you are — see Section 5.
  • Advertising: measure campaign effectiveness, attribute conversions, and personalise advertising on third-party platforms. Opt-in in the UK and EEA; on by default elsewhere until you turn it off.

5. What we actually set

Our own cookies. These are set by Vavio on your device:

  • Your cookie choices — one cookie recording the decision you made, so we do not ask again and so the rest of this list can be honoured.
  • Sign-in and session — cookies that keep you signed in and your session secure. These are strictly necessary.
  • A first-party visitor identifier — a random identifier that lets us count a visit without naming you.
  • Attribution — cookies recording how you first arrived and most recently arrived, and any advertising click identifier in the link you followed. These are written only where the recorded consent state permits analytics or advertising — so in the UK and EEA only after you opt in, and elsewhere from your first visit until you turn it off — and they are expired when you withdraw that.

Third-party technologies.

  • PostHog — product analytics and session replay. The analytics code is not loaded until the recorded consent state permits it: in the UK and EEA that means it does not load until you opt in, so a visit that declines makes no request to it and gets no cookie from it; elsewhere it loads on your first visit and keeps loading until you turn it off. Withdrawing consent stops it again without a sign-out. When you are signed in, we identify you to it with your user identifier, email address, plan, and business identifier, and it records a masked replay of the product interface. It is served through our own domain.
  • Cloudflare Turnstile — an anti-abuse check on our contact form. Strictly necessary for that form to work.
  • Stripe — payment and fraud-prevention technology on our checkout and billing pages. Strictly necessary to take a payment.
  • Advertising tags — measuring our marketing campaigns. These load only where the recorded consent state permits advertising — in the UK and EEA only after you opt in, elsewhere by default until you turn them off — and only on our marketing website; they are never present in the product. Where permitted, the following tags may transmit cookie and device identifiers, page visits, and conversion events to the named providers for advertising and measurement:

6. How long cookies last

Session cookies are deleted when you close your browser. Persistent cookies remain on your device for a set period (typically up to thirteen months for cookies set under EU/UK consent rules, and longer for strictly necessary cookies where required) or until you delete them. Authentication and security cookies last as long as needed to keep you signed in and secure. Signing out clears your Vavio session cookies; it does not clear analytics or advertising cookies. To clear those, withdraw consent using “Manage cookies” — which stops the analytics code loading and expires the attribution cookies — or clear your browser data. Section 7 has the controls.

7. Your choices

You have several ways to control cookies:

  • Our cookie banner and preferences: in the UK and EEA the banner appears on your first visit and nothing optional runs until you answer it. Elsewhere there is no banner and the optional groups start on, so “Manage cookies” in the footer is how you turn them off. Either way you can change your choices at any time from that link, and it includes a single Reject action that denies every optional purpose at once.
  • Your browser: most browsers let you block or delete cookies and warn you before they are set. Browser settings vary — see your browser’s help pages for instructions.
  • Industry opt-outs: for advertising cookies, you can use industry opt-out tools such as the Network Advertising Initiative (NAI) and the Digital Advertising Alliance (DAA) in addition to our preferences.

Blocking strictly necessary cookies may affect how the Service works (for example, you may not be able to stay signed in or save settings). Where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it at any time — withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of prior processing.

8. Browser signals

Some browsers send automated privacy signals, such as “Do Not Track” (DNT) or Global Privacy Control (GPC). We do not currently detect or respond to either signal. We would rather say so than claim a control we have not built. Use “Manage cookies” below to record your choice — it is honoured everywhere on this site, and you can change it at any time. We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising, which is what a GPC signal would ask us to stop.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes to our practices, the Service, or applicable law. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date and, where appropriate, request consent again or notify you in another suitable way. Continued use of the Service after a change takes effect constitutes acknowledgement of the updated policy.
