Solutions · AI employee for recurring research

A research analyst that returns evidence, not a pile of tabs

A Research Analyst is one named AI employee that owns a recurring research question: a configured schedule or teammate request wakes it, it searches public sources and reads bounded extracts from the exact pages that matter, then returns a brief with citations, materiality judgments, run evidence, and cost. Some multi-part read-only work can split into bounded helper runs. It is not a claim that research automatically compounds forever or that the employee files issues and sends reports unattended.

Starts on a schedule

Configure a schedule in Manage for the recurring brief, or ask for a one-off run in Chat. Describing a cadence in Chat does not create the Trigger yet; a webhook belongs only where a supported source truly needs an immediate wake-up.

Who this is for

Founders, operators, agencies, product teams, advisors, and back-office owners who repeatedly check competitors, regulations, suppliers, pricing, funding, tenders, or market changes — and then have to turn dozens of tabs into one decision-ready brief.

The valuable part is not a longer answer. It is knowing which sources were checked, what changed, what did not, which claim came from where, why a signal matters, what the run cost, and where the analyst is still uncertain.

Why an AI employee, not another scheduled prompt

A frontier chat app is often the better tool for one open-ended investigation. Vavio is for the job around the investigation: one employee keeps the research brief and source preferences, wakes on the configured cadence, uses public-web search and bounded exact-page extracts, can split bounded read-only legs, and leaves the output in a run the workspace can inspect.

You correct the employee in Chat — a source to distrust, a materiality threshold, a format, or a missing comparison — and the instruction remains visible. The next similar brief is where the correction has to prove itself; Vavio does not claim that every scheduled report automatically becomes the next durable comparison baseline today.

How the Research Analyst works

  1. You define the recurring question, the sources or domains that matter, the decision the brief should support, and a configured schedule in Manage — or ask for a one-off run in Chat.
  2. The employee searches the public web, reads bounded extracts from the exact pages behind the results, and can split genuinely independent read-only research legs into bounded helper runs.
  3. It returns one brief the workspace can inspect, with source names and URLs, relevant dates, findings, no-change calls, materiality judgments, uncertainty, run evidence, and cost.
  4. You challenge a claim or correct the method in Chat. The correction becomes a visible instruction that the next similar research run must apply.

What's live today (and what isn't)

Live: public-web search, bounded exact-page extracts, configured schedules, scheduled output the workspace can inspect, cited briefs, cost and run evidence, and bounded read-only helper runs for some multi-part research. A production fixture produced a ten-source competitive digest that passed all four content checks; that employee still failed its wider seat because the digest could not save itself as the next baseline and unrelated schedules remained. Not live: automatic week-over-week compounding, automatic issue filing, guaranteed source coverage, or unattended external sends. Vavio is pre-launch, so this is company-operated proof, not a customer result.

Vavio vs ChatGPT Scheduled Tasks or Deep Research, honestly

What ChatGPT's current research and scheduled tools are genuinely good at

  • Scheduled and monitoring tasks can run one-off or recurring checks, remember previous runs, and notify you when a meaningful change appears.
  • Deep Research can search the public web or chosen sites, use uploaded files and enabled apps, and return a structured report with citations or source links.
  • It is a mature, flexible way to start a one-off investigation or recurring monitor with little setup.

Where Vavio is weaker (and a research chat wins)

  • For a one-off investigation or recurring monitor, ChatGPT is faster to start and may produce a stronger result.
  • Deep Research can use files, selected sites and enabled apps; this Vavio door is proved on public search and bounded page extracts.
  • ChatGPT monitoring tasks can remember prior runs. Vavio does not yet make each scheduled report its own durable next baseline, so automatic week-over-week compounding is not a live claim.
  • Vavio is pre-launch, with one company-operated 4/4 digest and no customer research track record or guaranteed source coverage.

Not live yet: Automatic baseline persistence and week-over-week compounding are not live; the run output remains available to the workspace, but the next run may need the prior comparison supplied again. Automatic issue filing and unattended external sends are separate Actions, not consequences of asking for research.

How you’ll know it’s really working

Vavio is pre-launch, so the proof isn’t a logo wall — it’s what your Research Analyst does in front of you. Watch for these:

  • The configured Trigger or teammate request starts the declared research job, not an unrelated scheduled task.
  • Every material claim names the source and relevant date, and the brief separates changes, no-change calls, judgments, and uncertainty.
  • An active teammate can open the finished output, run evidence, tool trail, and cost from the same run.
  • Any helper work stays bounded and read-only, and its evidence rolls back into one final brief.
  • A source, method, or materiality correction becomes a visible instruction and changes the next similar brief.

One platform, many job roles

The Research Analyst is one job door into Vavio

Vavio builds cloud AI employees for real business job roles — enquiries, admin, support, operations, and more. This page leads with one job, but it’s the same platform underneath: one named worker that owns a whole job, waits in Review for Actions with Require approval on, and leaves run evidence.

Frequently asked questions

Can it research the current web?
Yes. The employee can search the public web and read a bounded extract from a specific discovered page, with the query, source URLs, results, truncation, run evidence, and cost recorded. Source access can still fail or be incomplete, so the brief must show uncertainty rather than imply total coverage.
Can it research several topics at once?
For a job that genuinely splits into independent read-only parts, the employee can use bounded helper runs in parallel and roll their findings back into one final brief. Those helpers can research and report; they cannot send messages, edit records, or take external action.
Does each report automatically improve the next one?
Not completely today. Authorized corrections can become visible instructions for the next similar job, but a scheduled report does not yet reliably save itself as the next comparison baseline. Automatic week-over-week compounding is therefore not a live promise.
Will it send the report or file issues on its own?
Research is read-only. Sending a report, writing a record, or filing an issue is a separate Action with its own connection and approval setting. This page does not claim automatic issue filing or unattended sends.
